“I Rarely Feel Alive”

•

This is a common starting point in somatic therapy.

Sometimes, for many different reasons, the body-mind goes into freeze.
It can feel like being under anesthesia — no sensation, no emotion.

And yet, even in that stillness, there are small sparks of aliveness.

  • Even in chronic tension, there are soft places.
  • Even with pain, pleasure can still exist.
  • Even when frozen, warmth can return.

This isn’t about denying hard feelings.
It’s about building inner resources — even in the midst of difficulty.

We begin by noticing what already supports us.
Right now.
Not somewhere far away — but here, close, accessible.

Often, it’s the simplest things. The ones we overlook.

In somatic therapy, we retrain the nervous system.
Not just to survive pain — but to recognize and receive the good.

Pleasure, ease, support.
They’ve often been ignored or dismissed.

Your own body can become that source.
It’s the place where your mind, emotions, and instincts meet.

No matter how advanced the world becomes,
we still live life through the body.

And that — is our greatest resource.
